Getting Here

Ilfracombe is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

Situated right on the Landsborough Highway/Capricorn Highway/Matilda Highway, some 1136 kilometres from Brisbane and 800 kilometres from Rockhampton, Ilfracombe is nestled 80 kilometres west of Barcaldine and 27 kilometres east of Longreach.

A bus services operates daily from Brisbane;  A passenger train ‘The Spirit of the Outback’ operates twice a week from Brisbane;  and QantasLink operates daily air services to Brisbane and return, from the Longreach airport.

There is a gravel airstrip located just outside of Ilfracombe and maintained by Council, 1100 metres in length, that caters for small aircraft.
