Oakhampton Cottage

Part of the museum precinct, the cottage was the outstation residence for the "Oakhampton" block of "Lyndon" station. It is typical of the married quarters provided to the station hands living on the outstations. These types of outstations were phased out in the 1950s and 1960s as changes to the land rules regarding occupation of blocks and improved communication led to less people being employed to run properties.

Oakhampton Cottage also offers a local Visitor Information Centre for Ilfracombe.
